MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Measure useful inquiries, not just busy dashboards

Measurement helps when definitions, consent and reporting are consistent.

Choose a small set of meaningful events

Differentiate a page view from a form start, a valid inquiry and a completed business outcome. Each stage answers a different question and should not be reported as the same conversion.

Define quality with the sales process

A qualified lead should meet practical criteria such as service fit, correct geography and a real contact path. Write down those criteria rather than allowing dashboards to decide on their own.

Respect visitor data

Collect only what is needed for the stated purpose, describe who receives it and avoid installing tracking tags until required notices and consent controls are ready.

Avoid exaggerated attribution

Advertising platforms can report the same business outcome differently depending on lookback windows and attribution rules. Explain differences honestly instead of adding every number together.

Use reports to choose next actions

A good weekly or monthly report links findings to decisions: search-term exclusions, creative improvements, clearer forms or a better follow-up process.

Guidance is general and does not replace checking the applicable policies of the advertising platform or regulatory authority.
